Any easy meal to add to our list of go to dinners is a welcome thing. That's why these pressed sandwiches are a fun meal that the kids love.
Make that sandwich special by pressing it while you grill it!
Pressed Cuban Sandwich
Recipe by Love Bug Living
Cuban sandwich rolls
2 kinds of lunch meat
Cheese slices
condiments (mayo, mustard...)
pickle slices in you like
Prepare your sandwich roll with condiments, lunch meat, cheese and pickles. Place your sandwiches on a hot griddle or flat skillet over medium heat. Using a griddle press, press down on your sandwiches as you heat them. If you don't have a press, use another pan with a hot mitt on it and press down your sandwiches. Flip and press down again. Heat through and serve.
I think these would be much easier to eat than the fat rolls. Even as an adult, I sometime have trouble getting my mouth around a hamburger and bun and end up making a mess or eating it with a fork. A fork is so wrong with a hamburger. We've given up lunch meats and ham because of the sodium, but I think we could do this with our own sliced meats, especially chicken and roast beef, or even pulled pork. This look much more interesting. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you could do it with any kind of meat. The pulled pork one sounds awesome. I will have to try that the next time the hubby smokes some!
